You may be thinking, what is an adaptogen? David Winston, a respected herbalist describes adaptogens as herbs for strength, stamina and stress relief. “Adaptogens are remarkable natural substances that help the body adapt to stress, support normal metabolic functions, and help restore the body’s resistance to physical, biological, emotional and environmental stressors… They are unique from other substances in their ability to restore the balance of endocrine hormones, modulate the immune system and all the the body to maintain homeostasis.” (Winston & Maimes, 2007)
Although the use of adaptogens can't substitute for living a holistically based life with attention to diet, sleep, exercise, and time of joy, these herbs can help to set a firm foundation in approaching life. We’re here to guide you in choosing the right fit for you based on what is going on in your world.
